STUDENT TRANSFORMATION | an Orlando story...
In June, Live The Life Central Florida hosted its first-ever Real Essentials and Money Matters summer camp where 18 students completed both courses. One of those 18 was a student named Emmanuel whose father shared that Emmanuel had been dealing with behavioral issues, and he was hoping the camp would help.
When Emmanuel attended the camp, he was quiet but participated, and day by day he started opening up more. By the end of the week, he had actually asked his parents to pick him up late because he wanted to spend more time at the camp! That following Sunday a few days later, Emmanuel’s dad came up to me, overjoyed to say that Emmanuel talked about the summer camp all weekend, and wanted to have the camp go longer! He later explained that Emmanuel seemed to have a complete change in his behavior and that the classes were an amazing success.
Because of this, the father became a partner to us by donating and is now a connection to multiple public schools and communities that we are now able to teach at because of his influence. The father thanked me personally, and that is the text that is shared with you all today. All this to say, sometimes an open door to the campuses, private donations, communities, and partnerships might just be one student away!
