LIVE THE LIFE CORE VALUES

  1. Life is about relationships – with Christ and with one another

  2. We believe that the institution of marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman as designed by God.  This covenant was designed to model the love of Christ for His people, and is a closely held belief at the foundation of our faith.

  3. The breakdown of marriages and families is a core social problem.  This is a multi-sector problem which will require a multi sector solution.

  4. We agree with St. Augustine that “all truth is from Him who said, ‘I am the truth,’”[1] and that we merely rediscover what God already knows.  Therefore we will offer both Christian faith-based and secular versions of our programs to strengthen marriages and families

  5. People have significantly better outcomes in life when they discover, learn, and practice healthy relationship skills

  6. We will strive to conduct ourselves at all times with the highest standards of honesty, integrity, mutual accountability, and collective responsibility

  7. Our approach will be continuously informed and updated by the latest research findings

  8. We offer experiential learning in all of our programs because we believe people learn and retain far more from an experience than from a lecture

  9. Live the Life’s Statement of Faith will serve as the guide for all corporate decisions

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The following doctrinal statement is the basic spiritual foundation for this organization, and the same shall not be amended or deleted, except by vote or written consent of all the Board of Directors of Live the Life Ministries:

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost:  they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Unanimously adopted by the Board of Directors April 28, 2001

Some have asked if Live the Life follows a specific doctrinal perspective (e.g., whether Arminian or Reformed). In keeping with the interdenominational nature of our organization, we make a deliberate effort to avoid emphasizing any theological interpretation. Our mandate is to concentrate on the basic tenets of the faith that C.S. Lewis would call “mere Christianity.”

This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Live the Life’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Directors is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
