SOUTH FLORIDA ADVISORY BOARD

In 2004, Bob Moss founded Moss & Associates with two projects and two employees. Today, Moss is a privately held construction firm providing innovative solutions resulting in award-winning projects across the United States with more than 600 professional employees. Bob built his successful career during the past 49 years with experience in a diverse portfolio of construction projects spanning North America. This portfolio includes transportation projects, healthcare facilities, military and space research projects, retail, universities and higher education, correctional facilities, sports facilities, solar construction, island construction, residential multi-family units, senior housing facilities and convention centers. Some of his hallmark projects include Marlins Park and Nova Southeastern University’s Guy Harvey

Oceanographic Center. Bob was also central to the teams that constructed 10 Walt Disney World resorts which included approximately 22,000 rooms; 16 Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World projects; the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; Atlantis Paradise Island and Our Lucaya in the Bahamas. Bob’s experience continues with iconic projects such as Brightline Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach stations, Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham in St. Thomas, USVI, Auburge residences in Fort Lauderdale, Florida International University’s Wellness and RecreationCenter, ICON Las Olas and the BB&T Center. Bob serves on the Governor’s Florida Council of 100, World President Organization, the Chief ExecutiveOrganization, and he is the Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors of Watsco, a $7 Billion NYSE Company.He has been honored by his peers and the community: Nova Southeastern University’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Inductee, University of Florida Construction Hall of Fame, Clemson Construction Hall of Fame, Broward Workshop’s Top 102 CEOs. In 2011, he was the recipient of the South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Distinguished Citizen Award, and he was recognized as the Humanitarian of the Year by the EASE Foundation in 2012. Bob received the Engineering News-Record’s Legacy Award and has also been recognized in the South Florida Business Journal as a Power Leader for seven consecutive years.

 

Sandra Moss has resided in Broward County for 34 years and has been married 50 years to Bob L. Moss, Chairman and CEO of Moss & Associates. She is the proud mother and business partner of sons Chad and Scott, mother-in-law to Scott’s wife Katharine, and grandmother of three, Sarah, Wyatt and Anna Claire. Sandra exudes great joy in being a devout wife and mother to a family of magnanimous leaders essential to the betterment of the community, Moss and its partners. Her passion for giving is woven into the philanthropic fabric of South Florida. Sandra served on the Moss Foundation Board. She is an advisor and past chairperson of the Historic Stranahan House Pineapple Jam and a past board member of Sheridan House Family Ministries. As an advocate for women’s health issues, she was a major contributor to the University of Miami Forum on Women’s Health. Sandra served on the steering committee and supported Hope South Florida/Operation Lift Hope which helps our U.S. veterans. She is an ambassador for Strike Force 421 which helps Christian charities in South Florida. Sandra is an active member and donor of the Wise Women of Junior Achievement World. She celebrates and supports her Christian faith as a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale. In North Carolina, Sandra enjoys her Southern roots in the surroundings of her home state. She served on the Board of Directors for Lees-McRae College and helped to establish the High Country Charitable Foundation of which she served as a board member. Sandra is a member and supporter of the local Banner Elk Presbyterian Church. Sandra comes from a struggling childhood and was nurtured by benevolent grandparents who made her recognize the importance of raising children in a flourishing, faith-filled environment. She says “Helping children grow, develop and learn to maximize their greatest potential are the best gifts a mother can give.” She also believes that strong marriages can produce strong families and healthy children.
